2019 has proved to be an exciting year for our partners. Hyland celebrated their 10th successive year being recognised as market leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant with the release of OnBase Foundation. The latest release includes enhancements for users and administrations including responsive ux components to make it easier to build on and extend Onbase, new video streaming capabilities to allow users upload videos to cases, while it’s governance and compliance offerings can now automate document retention practices aligned to local data legislation requirements.

In September, ABBYY announced the acquisition of Timeline PI, a developer of a comprehensive process intelligence platform designed to empower users to understand, monitor and optimise any business process. This acquisition positions ABBYY as a leader in Business IQ and Process Intelligence. The release of ABBYY’s Flexicapture 12 R3 included enhanced mobile capture features, the application of natural language processing (NLP) technology, and increased machine learning capability to extend capture capabilities to the mobile workforce and unstructured documents. ABBYY is testing NLP technology in Flexicapture to extend capture capabilities to unstructured documents. Currently, up to 90% of enterprise content is unstructured and ABBYY’s internal tests confirmed 93% extraction accuracy on content!


DocuWare were also busy on the development front releasing DocuWare 7.2 in November. DocuWare’s cloud based proposition provides a very comprehensive document management solution for the SME marketplace. Recent enhancements in DocuWare include integration with eSignatures for workflow documents, enhanced workflow activity and additional improvements in workflow designer.  2019 also saw the release of automated invoice processing based on individual line items. Split posting, the ability to assign individual line items to different cost centres for multiple approvals is fully supported, while improved intelligent indexing recognises individual entries and transfers them to new fields.


Robotic Process Automation tended to garner most of the news headlines throughout 2019 and we’re delighted that UiPath, our RPA partner, is recognised as the leading RPA software company by Gartner, and earned No. 3 spot in the Forbes 2019 Cloud 100 List. We’re seeing close integration of RPA projects with data capture requirements and approx. 70% of  RPA projects today have a strong element of data capture associated with them. UiPath released Explorer to make it easier to identify, document, analyse and prioritize processes and identify quick wins for RPA projects.
